Biotechnology has emerged as one of the most transformative fields of science, with its applications ranging from agriculture and healthcare to environmental sustainability. The integration of engineering principles with biological sciences has led to breakthroughs in genetic engineering, bioprocessing, and regenerative medicine. However, this rapid advancement also raises ethical concerns regarding gene editing, synthetic biology, and biotechnological innovations. This paper examines the advances in biotechnology, with a particular focus on the interdisciplinary convergence of engineering, biology, and ethics. Case studies from Pakistan are explored, demonstrating the country’s strides in biotechnological research and its contributions to global challenges. The article concludes by discussing the ethical implications of emerging biotechnologies and the role of governance and policy frameworks in shaping the future of biotechnology.
